Well hello there!
I’m Haley Ryan. You can find out a little more about me here but to save time I’ll give you the key information.
In 2011 I was medically discharged from the Royal Air Force due to a hip injury. I joined the RAF straight out of school so it was a huge culture shock. After all, I gave them almost 10 years of my life. At the time, we had just bought our first house. We were living in an area neither of us knew and we were both unemployed. It felt like my whole world had crumbled around me and I was scared. What was I going to do now? How would we afford the mortgage payments?
Luckily, I had done a makeup qualification while I had been in the RAF. I decided to look for a part-time job while trying to set up my own business as a makeup artist. I did all the things that I thought I should…
A Facepage page was set up, I worked with a bunch of photographers to build up my portfolio. I got really excited about a really cool font. I then used that font for my logo even though it wasn’t very easy to read. I was all about the superficial things and had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I kept plodding along hoping that it would just figure itself out.
The business lasted for around 18 months before I finally gave up on it. I was bringing in less than £3000 per year. I was
So why did it fail?
For me I think it was a combination of two things:
- I had no idea what I was doing and didn’t bother to research the best (and quickest) ways of doing things
- I tried to go it alone
The first business may not have worked but I didn’t give up. Instead, I surrounded myself with motivation people. P
Well, remember that house I bought in 2011, well now, in 2018 I own that house. The mortgage has been paid in full and next year we are planning the trip of a lifetime to America. I am definitely taking that as a win!
Welcome To The Boss Babe Empire
You will hear me say this a lot but it’s because it is so true. Successful women build each other up.
In business, we will never know everything. No matter how many books we read or courses we do, there will always be someone that knows more. There will always be someone who has more experience than us so why not take advantage of that?
Why set up The Boss Babe Empire? I want to bring like-minded women together to motivate, inspire and educate each other. To me, being surrounded by a positive community makes it even easier to achieve the goals we set for ourselves.
Sure we have family and friends that we can chat to about our business strategies and our goals. Isn’t it nice to speak to someone who really gets it though! We want to speak to others who have been where we are because they get it.
So, How Can The BossBabe Empire Help You?
